SEASON 5 OF TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED SOLAR CROWN IS NOW AVAILABLE TO ALL PLAYERS
Today we are delighted to announce the launch of the fifth season of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
This free update, available to all players, adds new content such as Taxi missions, Casino Poker, a KT Engine update, as well as major rebalancing of the game's economy. Season 5 marks the start of Year 2.
Appreciated by fans of the first opus of Test Drive Unlimited, Taxi missions are making a comeback. The aim is to transport a passenger to a specific point on the map within a given time, while adopting a controlled driving style in order to offer the customer the best possible experience and earn Solar Coins. This season also introduces Poker, available in the Casino. Players can use their virtual currency to obtain special rewards, including an exclusive car and various cosmetics for their avatar and cars.
On the technical front, the game engine (the KT Engine) has been updated for consoles and PC, bringing a host of changes to both visuals and performance.
The changes concern the graphic rendering, with particular attention paid to shading and shaders. This evolution of the engine is the culmination of almost a year's work by the team dedicated to the project. Other optimisation enhancements, notably the framerate, will be rolled out over the seasons.
In terms of player progression, an overall rebalancing of the game's economy has been implemented, allowing players to earn more Solar Coins on all races. The new system FRIM (It now earns reputation and Solar Pass XP, with rewards that can be cashed in without limit. Finally, car resale has also been introduced, with prices based on mileage, upgrades and options installed at the dealership or workshop.
New for Season 5 :
- The arrival of Taxi missions, The game is based on the concept of the "Passenger", which requires players to take their passenger to a specific location on the map.
- Poker at the Casino, which allows players to stake their virtual currency to obtain special rewards.
- New prestige cars, including the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, the Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule, the De Tomaso P72 and the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
- Upgrading the KT Engine, The game's graphics and overall performance have been enhanced by new rendering techniques.
- A global rebalancing of the gaming economy, with an increase in winnings for all races, an overhaul of the system FRIM and the possibility of selling cars according to their mileage and characteristics.
- A new Solar Pass offering free and premium content, This is accessible via the game's new currency, Diamonds. It unlocks new cars, cosmetics and accessories.
The opening of a shop at stake (available mid-season), allowing players to use their Diamonds to obtain exclusive content and weekly rewards.
